India is empowering the Pharmaceutical industry with new discoveries, inventions and side projects. The Indian pharmaceutical industry is a highly knowledge based industry which is growing steadily and plays a major role in the Indian economy. The research team at Sun Pharma has completed the in vitro and in vivo studies on the active principles of the extract.

2.3D Printed Drugs: The first 3D-printed drug dissolves quickly and is used in epilepsy, was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2015. The technology simply allows the company to better manipulate the drug's composition compared with traditional press and die pill-making technology, according to Aprecia Pharmaceuticals spokesperson Jennifer Zieverink.

3.iCliniq: A platform to diagnose the health of patients, with video conference and equipped with medical experts. iCliniq has tied up with over 1000 doctors, and has assisted 90000 patients in about 100 countries. The trend of telemedicine is attaining more popularity and estimated to touch the 110 crore revenue mark by the year 2020.

4.Indian railway promotes Medical Tourism: India has created a new room for the medical tourism. It is claimed that country’s medical tourism sector will soar to a $2 billion market by 2015, after a steep annual growth rate of 25%. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has designed an interesting concept, by which it will facilitate medical tourism for Indians in the country, especially from the northeast frontiers of Kolkata, Guwahati, etc, who often travel to the South of India for medical procedures. The IRCTC will offer transportation services and their relatives from Bangladesh to various centres in India, to avail treatment.

5.Narayana Nethralaya to end Infant blindness: Narayana Nethralaya is a super speciality eye hospital based in the Bangalore. The hospital provides Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) services to the neonatal and paediatric population. ROP is a serious condition resulting in childhood blindness. It is caused by malnutrition, in premature births, or in the cases of low weight infants, which are typical of low and middle-income countries.
